Omid Khajehdehi
Omid Khajehdehi is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Calgary, where he studies the nonlinear dynamics of technology adoption. His interdisciplinary research integrates dynamical systems, physics, and data science with insights from economics and policy to better understand pathways toward a low-carbon economy. By bridging these disciplines, he develops models that capture how public opinion, affordability, and technology availability interact with policy interventions to shape the large-scale transition to a sustainable future.
He received his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Calgary, where his dissertation focused on earthquakes induced by fluid injection. Prior to that, he earned a B.Sc. in Physics from Sharif University of Technology.
Outside of research, Omid is an avid squash player and can often be found on the court in his free time. He also enjoys hiking and paddleboarding, particularly in the Rockies around Banff and Kananaskis, where he loves exploring the outdoors.
